You wanna know something sad? I have spent way too much money over the past three months on little plastic figurines. Way too much.

How much is too much? About 4.6 combat patrols worth of stuff. Yessir, I just bought a resin printer a few weeks ago, and after some time getting all the other consumables to run the damned thing, I finally got to printing this week.

They did not lie when they said that resin printing smells terrible. I didn't realize it at first, but it actually smells a lot like duct tape once you peel off a fresh layer. In any case, it has stunk quite a bit and I've been printing with my garage half open and two large fans blowing the wind out.

The quality though, oh man, the quality is impressive. I've had some failed prints during these initial attempts, but the sheer volume of figures you can print out in the same amount of time as printing one FDM figure is insane. Just yesterday, alone, I was able to print out about 12 Ork figures. Probably would've been more, but I had some failed prints and was still working on the same logic as FDM printing. I forget that the amount on the plate doesn't really matter as much as the height of the print.

But what am I getting at here? Okay, nice, I can print out more figures. Even got a set of cabinet trays to put them in. My point is that there is no point to this. This whole thing has been a massive money sink, and all I'm really doing is making little toys. And suddenly I looked at it and realized I was doing exactly what I've been doing my whole life. Just playing with toys. Tuning things out. Putting my hands to my ears. Never really growing up.

I do not feel older today than I did 10 years ago. All I've got are a few more lines on my face, but I still do not feel older. I don't think I ever really grew up. All my life, I've still just been playing with toys.
